19/07 - Brazilian Contemporary Music: an interactive lecture by Brazilian sound artist Siri

The Brazilian sound artist Siri makes contemporary art by mixing music, performance, installation and video-art. In this interactive lecture, Atabaques, bongôs, agogôs and tablas will be substituted with pans, bottles and springs as Siri presents new ways of understanding different musical cultures and histories. At the end of this interactive performance lecture, Siri will record a piece of music composed and performed by the audience.

Important: please bring with you any object that you can produce sounds with but it's not a musical instrument.

O artista sonoro brasileiro Siri cria arte contemporânea através da mixagem de música, performance, instalação e vídeo-arte. Em sua palestra interativa, atabaques, bongôs, agogôs e tablas serão substítuidas por panelas, garrafas e molas a medida que Siri apresenta novas percepções de diferentes culturas e histórias musicais. Ao final de sua palestra interativa, Siri vai gravar uma música criada e tocada pela platéia.

Importante: traga qualquer objeto que produza som mas que não seja um instrumento musical.
